How it all started
Richard Strezo brings a lifelong appreciation for small business ownership, shaped early by being raised by a mother who owned and operated her own business. That experience became the foundation for his commitment to helping small business owners access the capital, guidance, and operational structure they need to grow.
More than 20 years ago, Richard was introduced to SBA lending in a market that often misunderstood or underutilized the product. He saw firsthand that when SBA programs are not clearly understood, lenders, borrowers, and communities miss valuable opportunities for growth, relationship-building, and mutual success.
Since then, Richard has made it his mission to remove the complexity surrounding SBA and small business financing. His approach goes beyond helping a business owner complete a loan application. He focuses on creating a vertically integrated advisory process that connects each stage of business readiness: industry selection, entity formation, documentation, intake, compliance, financial projections, and lender-ready business planning.
Through Small Business Advisors, Richard helps business owners move from concept to capital readiness with a structured, data-driven process. At the same time, he supports financial institutions that want to better serve their business customers by improving deal quality, strengthening borrower preparedness, and creating more successful financing outcomes.
By integrating business formation, compliance readiness, financial analysis, projections, and lending strategy into one coordinated process, Richard helps remove the gaps that often prevent small businesses from obtaining financing. His work is centered on making SBA and small business lending more transparent, more accessible, and more effective for both borrowers and lenders.
